The Textile Museum of Sweden is situated within the Textile Fashion Center, in Simonsland, a new district situated between Borås city centre and Knalleland.
From Trollhättan/Vänersborg: Take Road 42, and at the Knalleland roundabout turn left onto Skaraborgsvägen; follow this for roughly 500 m, after which you will see the Textile Fashion Center on the right.
From Göteborg/Jönköping: Take Road 40 to Borås. Leave Road 40 via Exit 86 - Annedalsmotet. Continue on Arlagatan/Kungsgatan (Road 42) north through the city until you reach Järnvägsgatan, near the University of Borås campus. Turn left and follow Järnvägsgatan over the railway tracks to Skaraborgsvägen, after which you will see the Textile Fashion Center on the left.
From Växjö/Varberg: Take Road 27/41 and continue to Annelundsmotet. Continue on Arlagatan (Road 42). Turn onto Järnvägsgatan, and follow Järnvägsgatan over the railway tracks to Skaraborgsvägen, after which you will see the Textile Fashion Center on the left.
By train/bus to Resecentrum (Travel Centre/Central Station)
The Textile Museum of Sweden is 10 minutes' walk from the Central Station/Travel Centre. If you arrive by train or bus, keep the station building on your right-hand or left-hand side, respectively, and go straight down Stationsgatan. Proceed to Sven Eriksongatan and cross the Viskan river. Turn left onto Nybrogatan, continue under the railway bridge and you will have the Textile Fashion Center ahead of you, where the Textile Museum of Sweden is located.
By bus from Södra Torget:
Catch the number 1 or 3 bus, and get off at Simonsland. You will see the Textile Fashion Center across the street as you leave the bus.
For visitors to the museum, there is parking at the south gable of the Textile Fashion Center, Skaraborgsvägen 3B.
Parking fees for the visitors' parking:
Weekdays, 09-18: 12 SEK/hour
Saturdays, 09-15: 12 SEK/hour
Other times: 2 SEK/hour
Payment can be made using card or pay-by-text.
The Textile Museum is located in the Textile Fashion Center building. At the information desk, outside the museum's entrance, you buy your ticket, which you then scan at the Textile Museum's entrance, to enter the museum.
On the Museum’s ground floor you can find the ‘Textile Power’ and ‘Clothes & Couture’ exhibitions.
Our second floor hosts temporary exhibitions which change regularly and cover a wide variety of themes. Here you will also find our makerspace 'DIY' and The Try-On Wardrobe.
